O przedsiębiorstwie

Based in Recoleta, Chile, Nowü Hogar is a socially driven furniture enterprise that produces handcrafted pieces using reclaimed wood from demolition sites. It focuses on connecting conscious consumers with skilled Chilean artisans, supporting local livelihoods.

Since its founding in 2017, Nowü Hogar has positioned itself at the intersection of sustainable design and social responsibility. It offers employment opportunities and training on the craft of woodworking to youth from marginalized backgrounds, creating pathways into skilled trades. It also supports unemployed people looking to start a business and artisans facing increasing production prices who are seeking new income opportunities.

Nowü Hogar has also worked with over 30 artisans with justice system involvement and supported various artisan communities by donating leftover wood, including scraps, shavings, and saw dust, from its production line. Between 2022 and 2024, it donated leftover material to over 3,500 artisans. The company also partners with suppliers to donate their own surplus materials, assembling kits of tools and supplies (such as glue, sandpaper, and solvents) for artisans to use.

Nowü Hogar emerged as a sustainable solution in a competitive market marked by high profit margins and intermediaries who take a large share of the value chain. In contrast, its business model values artisan labor, ensures fair compensation, and invests in better working conditions for small-scale producers. This shift gave rise to a steady flow of orders, eventually leading to the opening of its own workshop in 2019.

The company’s resilience during the challenges of the 2020 pandemic laid the groundwork for stable growth. In the years that followed, it expanded its team to include both interns and permanent engineers, making its operations more efficient and organized, and setting the company up for long-term success.

We work to highlight and celebrate the talent of Chilean artisans, while also creating a positive impact both on the artisans themselves and on surrounding communities. We believe in NESsT’s support, as it allows us to expand and strengthen the positive impact we’re already making. We know this is our social contribution, and we’re confident we can go even further through offering training and establishing a school—whether online or in-person—where we can share the knowledge we’ve gained.

Inwestycja NESsT

With a track record of steady growth and consistent support to local artisan communities, Nowü Hogar is poised to scale in a growing market segment with increasing demand for socially responsible and sustainable products.

NESsT’s support to Nowü Hogar will assist the enterprise in launching online and hybrid workshops for emerging local artisans, assisting them to develop their professional skills and launch successful careers.

In addition, NESsT is supporting Nowü Hogar to implement marketing tools designed to boost the conversion rates of its e-commerce site and drive sales, as well as to design strategies for the company’s structural growth and develop systems to measure social and environmental impact of its production lines.

In a male-dominated sector, NESsT is working alongside Nowü Hogar to set gender-inclusive goals to hire more women in the enterprise, both at a supplier and management level, and create a DEI policy that prioritizes gender-inclusive language, gender wage equity, and workplace security.
